YOU ARE THE SALT OF THIS EARTH. YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THIS WORLD. YOU ARE A CITY SET ON A HILL THAT CANNOT BE HIDDEN.

MATTHEW 5:13 – 16

13. You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. ^14.“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. ¹⁵ Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

2 TIMOTHY 3:1-5 LIVING BIBLE

1. You may as well know this too, Timothy, that in the last days it is going to be very difficult to be a Christian. ^2.For people will love only themselves and their money; they will be proud and boastful, sneering at God, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful to them, and thoroughly bad. ^3. They will be hardheaded and never give in to others; they will be constant liars and troublemakers and will think nothing of immorality. They will be rough and cruel, and sneer at those who try to be good. ^4. They will betray their friends; they will be hotheaded, puffed up with pride, and prefer good times to worshiping God. ^5. They will go to church, yes, but they won’t really believe anything they hear. Don’t be taken in by people like that.

2. If you profess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, all eyes will be on you. You will be watched; judged, and analyzed.
3. You automatically become an ambassador of the kingdom of Heaven to this earth; In your classrooms; workplace; dance studio; in your neighborhood etc..
4. All your actions or inactions are judged in the light of Christianity.
5. Whether Christianity is a success or a failure depends on you because your life has to mirror what you claim to believe.
6. Your life is like a house built on a hiss and it cannot be hidden.
7. YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

John 9:5 – As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” But Jesus is not in the world today. We are the light of the world. We are the only light of the world. According to Revelations 1:20, the lamp stand represents the Church.

1. Apart from the candlestick, there is no other source of light – without the church; there is no other source of light in this world.
2. Without the oil, the lights of the candlestick cannot burn – Without the Holy Spirit; the church cannot shine any light.
3. The candlestick shines its light upon only one object – the showbread – John 6:35:And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life.”
4. The only function we have as Christian id to cast light upon Jesus – We are to point to Jesus. Everything we do as Christian much point of Jesus .
5. 3. YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH

We are the only reason why God is still able to accept this earth. This earth is still acceptable to God is because of us.

1. Salt preserves and hold back the forces of corruption.
2. Salt gives flavors

For 10 righteous men, God could have spared Sodom and Gomorrah.

The will of God will never place you where the grace of God cannot keep you. I’m going to say it again: The will of God will never place you where the grace of God cannot keep you. If you are in the will of God where you are, the grace of God is sufficient for you.

Genesis 6:5 – Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time.

Jeremiah 17:9 – The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

Conclusion:

Your presence must make a difference wherever you are. Until the Church is taken away, our job is to shine light, and hold back the forces of corruption.
