Introduction: I went to RUDN – Hello PASTOR DANIEL

  • You are surrounded by witnesses – so remember whose child you are. (Hebrews 12:1-3)
  • God has given you the spirit of self-discipline – so no one can make you do what you do not want to do. (2 Timothy 1:7)
  • Do not allow your body to be an instrument for sin – no matter the circumstance. (Romans 6:12-14)
  • You have gifts – so serve others (1 Peter 4:10-11)

This sermon is going to answer TWO Questions because it is a summary of many of my sermons – WHY? Because this sermon is dedicated to those that are going through the phase of TRANSITION:

  1. Since I am transitioning into the unknown, how do I live and lead a righteous lifestyle?

Let’s use an analogy…

As of today, there is no cure for diabetes and no way to completely get rid of it. However, diabetes can be reversed in most people. Reversing diabetes means carefully managing blood sugars to a point where medications are no longer necessary, and staying at that manageable point through a healthy routine of diet and exercise.

Same thing with righteousness and staying without sin.

Healthy routine and Exercise.

A healthy Christian routine encompasses spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental well-being. It includes daily prayer and Bible study; regular church attendance; serving others; practicing gratitude; and living a balanced lifestyle that includes rest, exercise, and healthy eating. This also includes what you watch, and who you hang out with (1 Corinthians 15:33 do not be deceived, do not lie to yourself, bad company corrupts good character… If you put one good apple among ten bad apples, the good apple will become bad. And if you put one bad apple among ten good apples, the good one will become bad).

Since it takes serious discipline to stay physically healthy, it also takes serious discipline to stay spiritually healthy.

  1. Since I am transitioning into the unknown, how do I make sense of my life?

There are FOUR questions that you must ways answer:

Origin – Purpose – Morality – Destiny

  1. ORIGIN – Where do I come from?

Of course, you can believe that God created you – this is what the Bible teaches and this is what we believe in this Church and this is exactly what we teach and preach – you were created in the image and likeness of God; or you can believe in evolutionary biology; or you can believe in cosmic chance.

  1. PURPOSE – Why are you here and what is your ultimate goal? There is a saying: when the purpose is unknown, abuse is inevitable.

  1. MORALITY – What is good and what is evil and how can you tell the difference? What does your morality compass look like? According to the Bible, Morality is a reflection of God’s own being, and it provides a framework for how humans should live in relationship with God and each other. Remember – Love your neighbor as yourself – Matthew 22:39.

Do not ever compromise your morals – what the Bible says is wrong is still wrong wherever you find yourself.

  1. DESTINY – What happens to you after you die? What happens to you if the world suddenly come to an end? Maybe you do not believe in the concept of ultimate consequences, but Revelations 22:11-12 says otherwise.

Conclusion: How many times have you said, “I can’t wait to graduate because then I will be able to do…” Guess what? That time is now. GO DO IT.

You do not need to have anxiety like unbelievers do; you do not need to worry about your future, this is what unbelievers do. You have a father, and He is already in the future waiting for you. Do not be afraid – If you are a Christian. But if you are not, then this is the time to surrender your life to Jesus.

Let us pray.
