I know your deeds that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Pastor Daniel continued with series of Jesus’ letter to the churches in the book of Revelations. The church of Laodicea (also known as the lukewarm church) was the seventh church Pastor Daniel preached about in his teaching of the churches.
Pastor Daniel expanded on this by given the attributes of Jesus in the letter to the lukewarm church, stating that Jesus is THE AMEN, THE FAITHFUL, and THE WITNESS.
The problem with Laodicea wasn’t about being HOT (good) or being COLD (bad) but the distance from the source (Jesus).
Laodicea being a wealthy place was in need of nothing but was self-reliant.
“Self-reliance leads to arrogance. Laodicea reliance wasn’t on God but on themselves. Jesus letter warned them to repent and turn to him”, Pastor Daniel said.
We shouldn’t think that we can do all things through our strength, but rather we should rely on Jesus daily for everything.
The rest of the seven churches are: Ephesus (Revelation 2:1); Smyrna (Revelation 2:8); Pergamum (Revelation 2: 12); Thyatira (Revelation 2:18); Sardis (Revelation 3:1); and Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7).
